My name is Qiqi Hermione Huang. Equipped with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from South China University of Technology, I began my graduate program of architecture in Taubman College, University of Michigan and I am expected to graduate at the end of April 2019.

 

During my undergraduate, I founded Ecodesign Studio with seven partners from my architecture institute and we focused on architecture renovation and sustainable design. We have collaborated with charitable organization, and other architecture design studios on several projects in different scales and categories. As the co-founder and the vice manager of Ecodesign, I was not only responsible for management, external affairs and publicity, but also got involved the projects as supervisor, designer and investigator. During summer in 2018, I decided to work for NBBJ Seattle Office for three months as an Architectural Design Intern. My experience in NBBJ helps me understand more about workflow and team organization in a big architectural company. I also achieved my LEED AP BD+C to improve my professional skill in sustainable architectural design.

 

Design is a transforming process. In this case, architecture is a kind of medium which is capable to reflect the development and changing in our world and the history of human being. Wisdom of the ancients still exerts indispensable influences upon our society. It's a gateway for us to conform to the general trend of the times but still keep the essence of the old days.

From architecture to urban design, I try to maintain the original characteristics of the site or the existing buildings while bringing new blood to them, creating new profile and components that could meet the new requirements at present.
